Parkside Restaurant: a Great American Classic
There are good restaurants and there are great restaurants, the Parkside is a great restaurant. Every town should have a restaurant like the Parkside: the type of place you can eat at weekly and also be confident in bringing the discerning out-of-town guests. With an amazing deck overlooking Bar Harbor's quaint village Green, a menu that delivers simply knock-out meal after knock-out meal, the Parkside makes the list for dining while in Bar Harbor.

The Food: 5 out of 5

  • Pan Seared Yellowfin Tuna was our favorite dish, Sushi grade tuna was cooked to order and the moist tuna contrasted wonderfully with the toasted sesame seeds. Available as either an entree or an appetizer.
  • Baked Sea Scallops were thick, juicy, tender and perfectly cooked
  • New England Shore Dinner came with a big fat lobster with an enormous tail loaded with meat, steamers that were plump and sweet, a cup of NE Clam Chowder made with local clams and potatoes and slice of blueberry pie. A fantastic meal.
  • Blueberry Pie had a crisp pasty shell, loads of warm berries on the inside, ice cream, whip cream and a strawberry

The Experience: 5 out of 5

  • Truly Satisfying; we felt like our Vacation began here
  • The decks outside dining is where to sit
  • We could smell the Village Green's Trees from the deck

The Price: $$$ out of 5

  • Exceptional food at reasonable Bar Harbor prices
  • The slice of blueberry pie is worth the price of the entire Shore Dinner
